tales of berseria: a summary
THIS SUMMARY DOES NOT CENTER AROUND ANYONE ELSE EXCEPT FOR ELEANOR AND MAJOR EVENTS IN THE STORY
• In Hellawes, Eleanor is seen torn between protecting the people and her duties.
• She later confronts Velvet and co while they are escaping Hellawes.
• The next time Eleanor sees Velvet, it's when the party is setting fire to a storehouse in Port Zekson. The group fights her then, and she loses.
• She runs into them again when they are on a mission to assassinate a priest in Loegress. Although she fights them, she loses. She then follows them, only to run into a rather large daemon. The daemon is being held captive in Loegress.
• She confronts Artorius afterwards, asking him both for more malakim and the what the purpose of keeping a daemon captive is.
• When Velvet and co fight Artorius and lose, she watches as they are taken into an Earthpulse point. Without knowing what it is and where it leads, she follows them.
• After finding how weak Laphicet was after confronting Artorius, Eleanor forms a pact with him to save him. She then takes Laphicet as her malakim, giving him a true name by doing so.
• Once Velvet finds Eleanor, she makes a deal with her. If Velvet wins, Eleanor will do anything that Velvet says. Indeed, Velvet wins. Velvet tells Eleanor that she will travel with them as Laphicet's vessel and fight alongside them.
• Artorius comes into contact with Eleanor then, telling her to bring Laphicet to him. She agrees in doing so.
• Eleanor then agrees to travel with Velvet and co, telling them that she'll do everything that they tell her to do. However, this is also because Velvet orders her to do so.
• Eleanor is then labeled as a traitor to The Abbey for traveling with daemons.
• The group bonds slowly over time during their journey.
• The group discovers that a book called the Book of Innominant is the key to knowing what Artorius's ultimate plan is.
• They discover that The Abbey is trying to revive Innominant. By doing so, they discover that they are capturing and imprisoning different therion for Innominant to consume malevolence from. Innominat is a rather powerful malakim, one believed to be a god. In order to stop this, they decide to find and take in those therions that they believe Innominat is absorbing malevolence from.
• No major events take place for Eleanor in particular until they reach Haria. I've taken the time to describe the events that take place there in the actual history section in her app.
• They eventually revisit Velvet's hometown, where it seems as though an illusionary arte is being performed. It appears that Velvet's family and friends, who she had witness die, are apparently alive. However, Magilou easily sees through it, and Laphicet and Eleanor are suspicious about it from the start. Velvet does eventually overcome this illusion and fights the therion causing the arte.
• The group takes Titania as a secret base, driving out any daemons that reside within it. In its place, they use it to give any allied people, daemons, or therions a place to reside within safely. These therions include things such as a beetle, a griffon, a mother, a child, and one of the members of The Abbey who willingly turns into a therion. Eleanor leaves Kamoana in the care of one of the therions in her place.
• Eleanor reveals that she was deceiving them because of The Abbey's orders. However, she does not plan to go along with what they tell her to do anymore.
• However, Titania is eventually taken over by The Abbey. When Velvet and co decide to go to Titania to protect the therions there, Innominat is revealed by Artorius. He is already revived. They are then taken to another Earthpulse point.
• Eventually after leaving the Earthpulse point, they find themselves in a place called The Calix.
• After leaving The Calix, they travel back to Loegress. It's then that it seems that The Abbey is doing as they had planned. This is by purging the world of any malevolence. By doing this, they wish to drain people of feelings entirely, leaving them only with reasons.
• However, Velvet and co find a way to stop this plan and give people thier emotions back. They plan to awaken the other Empyreans. The Empyrean's are god-like malakim, much like Innominat. There are currently four, with Innominat as the leader. Through doing this, they can help weaken Innominat's power.
• To do this, they must sacrifice four different souls. Conidering that Velvet has the ability to consume people as a daemon, she decides that she will devour two members of The Abbey. During a battle with two previous exorcist members - namely Teresa and Oscar - she had devoured their souls, albeit by accident. By fighting and defeating two more members (both Melchior and Shigure), she is able to sacrifice them. It's worth nothing that they find a point in the earth that is overflowing with life in order to awaken them. They use a volcano in the north. By sacrificing their souls there, they awaken those god-like malakim. Innominat's powers are indeed weakened then.
• After this, the party heads off to the final dungeon. Eleanor promises that if anything happens to Velvet, she'll look over Laphicet.
